Alan Lack's family have some very sad news to pass on. We are very sorry to say that Alan died on the 11th June, a few weeks short of his 70th birthday.

Creating artwork for Wedding Originals gave him much pleasure in the last few years. We sometimes said he may be underselling his talents, but his best reward was always the delighted response of his clients. He treasured their thank you letters, as we now will.

We are pleased to think that his artwork is now hanging in houses around the country and abroad and those who have his work will always have a reminder of a creative, talented and absolutely lovely man.

A little bit of background...my father told me that he always loved drawing. The way he said it, he was allowed to do a lot of extra art at school and avoid maths, which he didn't like. He went on to Epsom and Wimbledon art schools and continued with his art throughout his life. His main career was in design and advertising for cosmetic companies. He was based in London where he co-ran a company called Hall Cross, before working for himself, then retiring and setting up Wedding Originals.

I am his daughter, Katy, and may, one day, try to pick up where my father left off, as I also draw and paint. Of course, I have my own style - if I could do it just like him, I'd be delighted, but we're all individuals! But, as for Alan Lack's Wedding Originals, I'm afraid to say there won't be any more, so if you have one, do treasure it.

Alan will be greatly missed.
